This week we are reading Chicka Chicka Boom Boom as part of our Storybook Summer. For our Crafty Tuesday post we made two coconut projects.
To make our own delicious smelling coconuts we took a smaller white circle and glued it to a larger brown circle. The girls then adhered glue stick all over the brown circle that was showing. We sprinkled cinnamon to the top of the brown. In a small bowl we combined shredded coconut and glue. We then spread that mixture on the white circle. This project smells edible and I have to tell myself that it is not!
To make some Alphabet trees I drew a rectangle on a piece of paper. The girls then painted their rectangles brown. After painting their hands green the girls pressed them to the paper to make the leaves of the tree. They each adhered the letters to their names going up the Alphabet trees. I made an extra tree and I was surprised to see that Big Sister put the letters on backwards. Art at almost four is so much fun!
